Learning day by day

Birthday boy!

Presents at breakfast, which was a cooked breakfast.

Then we went off to International Bomber Command. It was extremely interesting and informative. The numbers involved are hard to get your head round and it is shocking that none of them got campaign medals. At least now they have a memorial worthy of their actions. The museum itself didn't shy away from explaining the human cost of IBC's actions during the war either, which is a move forward in how we remember history.

Back at the hotel there were no swimming slots so the kids settled down and watched Big Hero 6 and then Will had the most enormous plate of fish and chips followed by sticky toffee pudding. He had a good day all things considered.
