Two bridges.

Scotland trip day 11.

Today’s trip takes us out to The Birks of Aberfeldy, a picturesque gorge with stunning waterfalls.

On our way we see snow on the top of Ben vrackie we then stop to admire the bridges over Loch  Faskally  before heading to Aberfeldy.

We park in the car park and cross a large bridge and head along the banks of the Moness burn. Carrying on upwards along a woodland path to arrive at the first waterfall, the walk from here becomes quite arduous (glad I had my walking pole) and we climb up a series of wooden steps taking you up the side of the gorge to a second waterfall. With the sound of rushing water all around us and as the gorge narrows we climb up more steps before coming to an opening where we view the upper  Falls of Moness.

Leaving the falls we make our descent down a leaf strewn path.
Oops I think Mr PC spotted a mushroom tree, we think it looked like a fairy village.

Although the walk was only 1.5 miles it took us over 2 hours to complete , we were glad to get back to the car and have a well deserved coffee and a piece of cake..

On our return to the caravan site we met two snow ploughs out gritting the roads.
