Bring me sunshine

At the third attempt we have a new smart meter fitted.

Part of the difficulty has been our solar panel inverter and battery - pictured - which is not the usual direct feed from panels.

But at last we had all the info to keep the fitters safe. It will eventually allow us to feed into the grid once we’ve used what we need.

All we require now is sunshine! Over the summer we were generating more than we needed. Now the sun is low in the sky for a few hours only- when it shines- the production is less. But still something.

Because we live in a conservation area we have to keep the panels out of sight and at a lower less efficient angle which reduces our production capacity. One of these balance issues but in environmental terms I’d rather create more green energy.
