Today I spent some time with a Suplier which has been involved in Smart Watermeter Tests with a number of Teretorial Authorities. One report published through the Media was full of surprises and created a huge amount of work in the way of private property leaks requiring remedial work. In the way of reading meter's I can see some big advantages and certainly a good investment. A good example is when I read the 6 monthly Routes which is all the meter's in Billing, I read 330 Watermeters, travel 640km's and take 5 days to read. Today when waiting for the lights to turn green if I had the pick up unit I would have read a number of meter's that would have taken me 30mins.
