One of those moments

I had bumped into a friend and as we walked and talked the topic became our deceased mothers. And then I noticed the wall outside the shop where we eventually had stopped ...

The story I'd been telling was about how I used to have my mum and stepdad's number in my phone as just "mum", as it was only her who rang me. And about a month or so after she died, (it might have been the day of the 7th July 2005 London bombings - a day that gave a convenient excuse for Blair and Bush etc not to bother focusing on making poverty history that weekend) my stepdad rang and of course it came up on my phone that my dead mother was calling. I remember there being a genuine moment where my heart was racing and my brain felt all tingly, till I rationalised it was my stepdad.
