This stile leads onto the Postman's Path, a short footpath on Little Haldon Heath with great views over the Teign estuary. As far as I'm aware it's not on any delivery route these days.

The song was originally sung by the Marvelettes but I'm sure most of us knew 'Please Mr Postman' from the Beatles second album.
