Train!

A beautiful late autumn day.   Jamie and I decided on a morning walk with Meg, choosing a circuit around the lanes at the edge of town which took us across the railway twice.   At Ty Mawr bridge there was clearly activity.  We saw smoke and heard chainsaw before crossing the bridge.  On one side, men at work.  On the other .... a train!

Later Jamie rubbed down and varnished the spice rack he made last weekend and also produced a tray of banana muffins which were shared with Andy who was here finishing off the fence.   He also went up on the roof to inspect flashings, seal a skylight and clear out the gutters.   All jobs on the 'must get that sorted' list since mid-summer so I am very pleased to have got them done.   I've paid him too and with assorted expenses ahead around solicitors, removals and all that, it feels like my finances are in freefall.   Things will settle down once all the legal work is complete and the sale of the old place goes through.
