Diary of an Edinburgher

Autumn sun

It was foggy when Archie and I stepped out this morning. JR did her exercises. I watched CNN. The presenters are great - they can talk nonstop, even when nothing much is happening.

By mid morning the sun was out, and we set off for a doggie walk. Oh, look - there’s one of our favourite cafes (August 21). A couple of nice toasted scones to go with the coffees, too.

From there we wandered back through the Meadows. It was mobbed, (though it doesn’t look it here). There was no wind, and the park was full of people enjoying the weather. The tennis courts were full. One loose tennis ball came flying over, and I offered to go and get it for them. So kind of me. I then threw it back over, but it didn’t quite make it, it hit the high fence. The chap was politely appreciative of my efforts anyway.

On the way back, we popped in to the gallery to pick up our newly re-framed paintings. They look splendid, all back together with the same frames.

There were three or four men out in the back garden when we came home. They were weeding and tidying up. Good. They’re also going to paint and fix up the shed. Good.
