Melted sugar?

Last night was again cold and ended with (below) zero degrees. Everything was covered with a thin layer of frozen dew.
The sun then made it all melt away, but until the ice was gone it was lovely glistering.
The leaf margins remained white the longest, and one could have taken the ice for sugar.
