Spotted...

……………………….Shag

The spotted shag or pārekareka is a species of cormorant endemic to New Zealand.

The species gets its name from the small black spots that appear near the tip of each back and wing covert feather during the breeding season.

I wonder if this is the same bird, much younger, photographed in the same location, and always alone.

No blue to be seen in the sky today, but no rain either!

Thank you for the comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s rose in full bloom.
