Anatole's blips

Michelealm - for lunch

A hot sunny day and a long exploratory walk round one of the more remote local valleys. While the main walking trails can be well used and marked, the forest trails here can be quite a conundrum and frequently dead end leaving a short, but precipitous distance from a neighbouring trail. To explore the intricacies of these trails, maps provide rough contours and a historic 'hint' of paths and trails which are frequently inaccurate or completely grown over. We use this in combination with a google satellite image (Google maps just shows pale green). The trails are mostly timber cutting trails and lead nowhere, but with a little bit of steep ground bushwhacking can often be linked up.

A formation of about 200 Cranes flew over, calling encouragement to each other as they head south for Africa. I wonder if they are going via Italy or Greece?
