From Now On...

Full on...

We achieved lots today! Yesterday was fine but I do like to do things.

Perfect sunshine to rake up the leaves this morning. Those from the oak tree plus all the fallen acorns did not go into the compost bin. Some plants bought several weeks ago finally got planted.

Several hours later, we’d fixed a new chandelier light fitting to the hall ceiling. The dangly crystals took ages to attach. Switch on....and we find it’s not suitable. The down lights cast shadows all over the ceiling. Two hours later it’s all dismantled and back in its box to be returned. Just a bad decision and no tempers frayed. The stair bannisters got given a beautiful gloss coat and are looking good. The end is in sight.

The brass hearth surround and companion set got a polish! Wow! Long time since that happened. All thanks to the chimney sweep visit on Tuesday. And two more Haiti dresses are finished.

Throughout the afternoon we’ve been following the results from the US election. Very pleased with them too.

And the British Legion Festival of Remembrance has been amazing to watch. A socially -distanced and much reduced event this year but as moving as every year.

Really sorry to hear of the death of Jonathan Sacks, former chief rabbi. I learnt so much from him and will miss hearing from him. I know our Jewish friends will miss him too.

A good day... one of many to be grateful for these days.
