Tree Roots

Every year the trees on the edge of woodland next to Little Beach are  exposed to heavy winds and usually one or two of them are blown down exposing their roots. This process was accelerated a year ago when contractors were thinning out trees throughout the John Muir Woods to allow more healthy growth in the remaining trees. They felled a number of trees at the edge of the woodland which were likely to be blown down and removed the trunks for timber but left their roots to rot on the beach. Along the edge of Little Beach there is now a line of exposed tree roots  They make for very angular and untidy images.
