Elephant

A magnificent solitary male elephant seen on an island in the middle of the Nile, just downstream from Murchison Falls.

We had just seen him wade slowly across from the river bank.

He reached dry land and turned and faced us - quizzically, defiantly? He then sauntered off, safe in the knowledge that he was the most powerful amongst us.

Of all the animals; hippos, fish eating eagles, baboons, crocodiles, giant kingfishers, bee eaters and a cast of thousands more, the elephants were the highlight.

Oh, and the Nile, what a river?!
