Long Shadows!

Today was another lovely day.  Our afternoon walk did not go as planned; but it ended up very successfully, despite the low sun.

We had planned to revisit our Ardington/Lockinge walk (for the umpteenth time) but temporary traffic lights at the bottom of the road were causing major problems, which were only going to get worse, so we swapped to our Letcombe Regis to Letcombe Bassett route.  (There is a reason for this narrative!)

The problem was that we were then walking directly into low autumn sun!  Lovely and warm, but not great when there are also vehicles on the road.  We took a footpath that had been closed by Oxfordshire County Council all year.  It wasn't open, but the signs had been cast aside and abandon.

The result was that we were walking through a landscape that had been familiar for years, but we were seeing it from a new perspective.

We could see red kites playing on the thermals; but the low sun made photographs virtually impossible.  However it did give us lovely long shadows!
