Life in a Northern Town

I have been so miserable for the last eight weeks, missing dear Lizzie desperately, and the routine that dogs bring. Despite previously vowing to never have another I knew we would. In the New Year we thought. A young black greyhound just like Lizzie we thought.

Then on Saturday the RGT posted on Facebook that they needed a home for an 11 year old greyhound whose owner can no longer take care of her.

A couple of hours later the deal was sealed.

Meet Luna. She is a gentle lady, a bit confused because she’s spent the last couple of weeks in a flat, a foster home with three other dogs, after living what we assume was a pretty quiet life in a bungalow in the North East. Now she’s in our busy, noisy house but she is adjusting so wonderfully well.

She needs a bath, a pedicure and some dental attention but that’s for later - for now she’s adapting to lounging around all day, being hand fed roast beef and wandering to the park. She had a long racing career and is very spritely - we just want to give her a warm bed, good food, lots of cuddles and as much love as we can cram in.

And to top it all she’s Lizzie’s first cousin. Serendipity!
