The old and the new

Struggling to find a blip for the day my eye fell on a light in the corner of our living room.
 
We bought this Japanese lantern over thirty years ago in Japan in a shop selling them off after the Festival of Lanterns.
 
Now its acquired a companion, a climbing clematis which got in through a ventilation shaft. How long will it survive? I don’t know. The rest of the clematis outside is already dormant
