Across the canyon

Mist on the hillside, just before sunset. In the extra, a White-breasted Nuthatch, apparently a fairly common resident here, yet one we seldom see. Not as much rain today as we expected, though a tornado struck in the neighboring town of St.Helens. Tornadoes are rare here, and this one was not that strong. Some buildings were damaged, but no one was hurt.
John got a load of composted manure from a nearby farm, we are spreading it in the garden, under the berries and elsewhere.
