Yellow Brain fungus

Another misty day, walking on Kinnoull Hill. This fungus (I guess Yellow Brain and not Yellow Ear) stood out from a long way off. I wonder if there is an evolutionary reason for the bright colour, or if is just a side effect of something else.

In the evening Mrs P and I both had curling games. Sadly these will be our last for a while, as Perth and Kinross is joining other areas of Scotland in level 3 restrictions.
