Howe Ridding apples

We made the most of a little sunshine and took a walk up to the Howe Ridding orchard. The trees were grafted from the ancient remains of an orchard and are beginning to fruit quite heavily. These ones had all come off in the strong wind this week and were just asking to be collected! They seem lovely and ripe and I will try baking a couple.
Also got my garlic planted ready for next year, and checked on the poorly hen, she seems ok so far and is eating and drinking.
