John Keats

"A thing of beauty is a joy for ever"
John Keats

An overnight in Twickenham for a hospital visit for K2 to have the dressings removed and initial assessment of the operation's outcome. SatNav has a strange route planned to Guy's and Vauxhall Bridge is closed, with long slow moving queues so K2 takes over as navigator to get us there. It takes twice as long as the predicted hour to get there, and K2 hobbles in on crutches, only about 20 minutes late so not too bad (left the hotel late because I insisted on my cooked breakfast). While K2 had her assessments I wandered (not quite lonely as a cloud) in search of inspiration and found it in the courtyard statue of John Keats. Something of a surprise to find him there; the area is a magnet for others finding lunchtime tranquillity in the hubbub of the busy city. The Keats quote is the opening to his poem Endymion, a name that stuck in my head since visiting K2 when she lived in Haringay and the bus would pass Endymion Road. Strange how these things come back, years later, telling us something of our own journey perhaps.
