Purple Sandpipers

On Birsay Bay shore. Pretty mild for mid-November up there today with a southerly breeze and lots of sunshine. The tide was very low so the harbour seals were also hauled out quite far from the beach- about 25 as usual. Nothing too unexpected bird-wise. It was nice to see numbers of small waders increasing with the purps, turnstones, ringed plover, dunlin joined by curlews, eiders, wigeon, teal, mallard, heron, raven etc.
