A RED-CRESTED POCHARD.........SHARDELOES LAKE.

I had a lovely walk from a section of Amersham to Little Missenden via Shardeloes Lake, it's good for a family walk. It was very cold and windy but it didn’t rain. My blip is a diving duck of larger lakes and reservoirs, especially with fringing reeds. The male is striking and unmistakable with a large, rounded, rusty-orange head and long red bill. This is the first time I've seen one of these ducks so it was worth the trip.
