Water in Narnia

The start of a stressful weekend. All the power in the house went out mid-morning. An RCD had flipped, so the first thing I had to do was look up what RCD means. Residual current device apparently. which spots when the earth on a circuit is faulty and stops you dying. Generally a good idea.

Now we found puddles either side of a wall, in the bathroom and in Laundry Narnia. In this case Narnia is a cupboard of unusual depth, containing washing machine and tumble dryer among other things. In the wall behind it, the water supply to the bathroom shower had sprung a leak. Water on a joist was 3 inches deep; that tripped the electricity, and then the afternoon was plumbers and electricians.

Oh well. Nobody died.
