Life through the lens...

Only a rose.

Such a dull and dismal day. Fortunately we decided to do our farm shop in the morning, before it started raining, as I had to queue outside. Only 6 allowed in at once as the shop is quite small. However there were only four people ahead of me so I didn’t have long to wait.

The shot of the rose was taken with flash. Just have a few still flowering round the door.

In September this year the 1st commercial cargo, moved into the city of Leeds in 20 years, was carried by the barge, Farnedale H of Hull we saw yesterday. ( see yesterday’s extra photo)
It carries marine aggregate from Hull up the Aire and Calder Navigation right into the heart of Leeds and unloads it at Knostrop wharf.
With a 500 tonnes capacity it takes 17 lorries off the road.
Leeds Council is going to build a new wharf at Stourton so that other cargos can be brought into the city using the waterways.
So you see as I said the transport of the future!
We were lucky to see it as it only does one delivery a day.
So glad we decided to make the most of yesterday’s good weather too.
