What is this?

My garden robin seemed a bit mesmerised by the sunflower head lying in the bowl that usually contains his dried maggots.  It rained most of the day so my feeders were well attended by all the tits, a chaffinch, goldfinches, blackbird, collared doves, wood pigeons, magpie, jackdaw, starlings and a squirrel! In the extras a magpie is looking for spiders in the corner of a garage.  He methodically went right along the line and seemed to be quite successful
