long-term

The wingpiglet will probably end up remembering the disruption of the process of the kitchen being embiggened more than the shape of the kitchen as it is at the moment, though the one or two things I can remember from when I was about 2¾ were simple normalthings rather than strange oddthings such as having the freezer and fridge sitting between the fireplace and the sideboard in the living room, the microwave and coffee machine respectively thereatop and some plastic stackyboxes of foodstuffs on top of the sideboard. It was probably for the best that we didn't get the house we put an offer on prior to this one as the kitchen-shortcomings were much greater and coupled to shortcomings throughout the rest of the house which would have needed attending to sooner, whereas this place has been quite livable-in for the 2¾ years we've been here as long as we don't try to use the oven or cook anything too extravagant for too many people. I'll be sad to lose the use of the dining-room as a bicycle-garage and general storage facility but a large, friendly famblykitchen with functioning brown goods will be a much better use of the space.
