Cycling on the ramparts

It's been a lovely sunny day today so I went for a walk on Old Oswestry Hillfort.  It was very muddy and quite treacherous in places after all the rain so I was very careful!

A herd of Soay/Hebridean cross sheep have been introduced to graze the bracken as it's a large site and very steep so difficult for volunteers to keep under control.  The sheep were chosen as they're thought to be similar to the ones that would have been kept in the area in the Iron Age when the hillfort was active.  The extra photo is of two of them watching me from behind the bracken.  They have a companion on the branch - a robin.

The main photo is of a boy enjoying himself mountain biking on the ramparts.
