One daze at a time...

By Raheny_Eye

November is the new July

If the numbers at the Forty Foot are anything to go by...
I remember when things started to quieten down, usually early in October.
None of that now. There is a steady stream of enthusiastic mums, and old timers, and teenagers, and shy people, and chatter boxes, and as many swimmers as there are curious onlookers.
The place is constantly busy.
And you really can't blame people for enjoying that jolt of energy delivered for free by the sea. No membership, no lock-down, no monthly direct debit.
It's there for all to use.

But not all the time or at any time.
There have been several incidents in recent weeks. Much larger numbers also mean increased risks of incidents.
The coast guards are well pissed off.

Those bitter party poopers.
Always sticking their righteous noses in the business of enthusiastic neophytes who want to exercise their god-given right to drown...
