brambleblossom

By brambleblossom

Bramble and I walked in the woods as the sun rose and then followed the same route as the sun set. Much of the daylight hours were spent planting bee friendly spring bulbs. To my delight I have managed to spend all the daylight hours outside . We have even seen sunshine and bits of blue sky .

The Maple tree caught my eye because it has grown within a bramble patch. The fascinating book written by Isabella Tree called Wilding explains how bramble patches are ecologically  important as they allow saplings to survive and grow tall enough to be able to withstand grazing pressure from deer and other grazers. I used to dislike bramble patches but I have now "reviewed the situation !"
