Guinness is good for you

Although TSM told me off for not pouring it properly and demonstrated the correct technique. Apparently you need to have not too much and not too little head.

Personally I like the Rutger Hauer ones from the late eighties and early nineties. Which is the period covered in the last episode of The Crown which we watched tonight, as Charles and Di have a competition to see who can be most venomous whilst Margaret Thatcher gets toppled after being ravaged by Geoffrey "Dead Sheep” Howe. 

Stirring times. We had a better calibre of politician then on both sides of the house. As Jonathan Maitland wrote in last week’s observer, referring to the  political shenanigans of 2019:

"If only someone with Howe’s heft – Labour or Tory – had grasped that kairos moment and made a truly great speech, May’s deal could have passed, she would have survived, and we wouldn’t be enduring the most tragically incompetent, ideologically vacuous PM of modern times." 

If only modern politics was as easy to swallow as a pint of Guinness...
