Cod Beck Weir, Thirsk, known locally as 'The Waterfall'. This and the nearby sluice gate are all that remain of the original extensive workings for Thirsk Mill.

Cod Beck is a derivative of Cold Beck. There are no cod in this freshwater stream. It runs for about 20 miles between the Cod Beck Reservoir and the River Swale.
