The HG and I have travelled a bit and have seen some of the world.  We reckon that a fine day in Scotland is as good as anywhere on earth.  We might be a bit prejudiced.

Scotland excels in 'dreich' though, and today is one of these days.  There is little light, the bushes, trees and flowers are dripping with water, the paths are full of puddles.  The wind blows the rain into you, and the dampness seeps into the bones. It is not a pleasant day and a day for being indoors.

Luckily we have plenty to occupy us.

I like the old gold colour of this fast fading rose which is now beginning to decay, and soon will be forgotten.

I am saddened to hear of the death of Hamish McInnes, the celebrated Scottish mountaineer, who was responsible for setting up the Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team.  I was climbing in the late 'fifties and 'sixties, a lot of the time in Glencoe and he was a hero of us all.  His exploits are legendary and he will be remembered by all of us who love the hills.
RIP.

I hope that you are having a good day and that the sun is shining where you are.
