Not the toenail

Asked the nurse in afternoon theatre what surgeries they were doing today. He said he didn’t know, but what he couldn’t deal with, was if it was an operation to remove an ingrown toenail. He said he’s seen emergency trauma surgeries with massive blood loss and not been a bit squeamish...but an ingrown toenail he couldn’t bear to look at.

Of course, the first surgery on the list was for an ingrown toenail.
