Thorn Tree in the Garden

Well, I don’t actually know what type of tree it was but, whatever it was, our neighbours obviously wanted it gone!
It was a bit like the Tree Surgeon branch (sorry!) of the SAS arriving this morning, when four assorted vehicles arrived in our cul-de-sac. The machine that does all the mulching was swiftly unloaded and put into position whilst assorted chaps bearing chain saws leapt out of the other vehicles and immediately got to work. Didn’t take them long to reduce the tree to a pile of branches which could then be fed into the chipper. That made a glorious noise as it turned the wood and leaves into fine particles which were ejected at high speed into the waiting truck.
A quick going over with a couple of leaf blowers and - apart from a hole where there used to be a tree - no sign that extreme topiary had occurred! A very swift process and I’d swear they took longer over their cup of tea than they did getting rid of the tree!
And that was the highlight of today. A dodgy stomach has confined me to barracks so any diversion from watching repeats of Top Gear on Dave, was most welcome.
Hoping my guts recover by tomorrow as it’s big shop day. And that, since March, has been the highlight of every week!
