EDF Energy are hoping to install a massive 49.9MW solar power plant on these fields as far as the eye can see, and beyond the existing pylons, as well as the fields behind where I was standing.
Many of the existing trees and hedgerows will be retained and sheep will be able to graze between and under the structures.
They say that the frames supporting the solar panels will be easily dismantled and removed when the plant reaches the end of its life, returning the land to its current state.
I think it’s much more preferable to having another nuclear station!
