Island...

..........................Bay, Wellington, NZ

Sunshine greeted us in Picton this morning which was lovely after yesterday’s rain. No wind either which bode well for a smooth Cook Strait crossing on the ferry.

Cloud eventually covered most of the evening sky so very little sunset colour from our lighthouse accommodation in Island Bay which is on the southern coast of Wellington.

The main photo is on the beach opposite and the first extra photo is from the beach looking up at the lighthouse. It’s quirky and we love staying here. The top floor with 360 degree glass windows offers a great view of the bay and out to Cook Strait. The middle level is the bedroom and the lower and wider level provides kitchen and bathroom facilities. It’s quite something being here in stormy conditions - it was quite the opposite this time.

The second extra is a panorama from inside the top level of the lighthouse. To the left is Island Bay. Taputeranga Marine Reserve surrounds the waters around this offshore island. Cook Strait is to the right.

A huge thank you for your visits, comments, stars and hearts for my recent two blips. I will catch up in a few days when I am back at my daughter's home.
