Manmade meets Nature

Each sunny afternoon, a window at the top of the stairs chez Family B casts a lovely pattern on to the landing wall. No water theme, I'm afraid, but still suitable for Abstract Thursday, I thought - Thanks, Ingeborg.

A frosty start to the morning, but it soon melted and little Miss B was outdoors and on her swing again. She can put her own wellies on now - sometimes even on the right feet! But she got frustrated this morning when we'd already put her shoes on and she found she couldn't put her wellies over the top!

The new tiers announced today are crazy. Both Family B and we in the South Hams of Devon were in Tier 1 before the lastest lockdown. Now, the whole of Devon is in Tier 2, and the whole of Lincolnshire in Tier 3. Two of the biggest counties in the the UK, with several different county authorites, all bundled together, cities and rural areas alike. Yet a couple of miles away we can cross the border into Rutland, deemed to be under a lower tier. And the hospital that serves both Rutland and this part of Lincs is Peterborough (in Cambridgeshire) - also in a lower Tier. What goes on in the heads of these politicians, who know nothing of the geography or population densities of this country beyond London? It's total madness. And then they think it's a good idea to have half the country on the road in the space of just five days. I can only think this is planned as a tax-raiser; fining anyone who breaks the travel rules to help replenish the coffers.

Rant over. Have a pleasant evening, blipmates!
