FISH BOY

I took Daughter #2 and grandson Bill to Segedunum at the end of Hadrian's Wall today to check out Roman stuff. Blimey it was cold! "Never mind", we thought after getting frozen looking round the site, "a hot drink before we look at the museum will be just the job", and then the café wasn't open. This is a World Heritage Site at half term! Disappointment doesn't adequately convey how I felt about that. Otherwise it was a good outing. They've reconstructed a Roman bath house (though sadly not with the Roman underfloor heating in working order) and the walls are decorated as they might once have been. Bill thought it was cool.

The big chaps stayed at home to do big chap stuff like cooking our dinner again (son-in-law) and other mysterious man-stuff in the shed (B.).

What have the Romans ever done for us?
