End of the Day

And what an excellent one it was. Young K and I set off, chute nestling in its snuffer sock, just after midday. The wind had got up and was slightly stronger than planned by the time we slipped our lines. Slipped our lines, eh? That’s good.
And just out the harbour, we raised the sail - and blimey, it fairly blew us along. We’d simplified our lines so we didn’t gybe but we got slightly upwind as well as swinging well downwind. And then we hauled it down and made our way back, toasting each other with a beer. And once safely tied up again, we had a wee rum, while the afternoon drew to a close. Then there was a shout from the quayside - the SK! Time to close up those washboards.
