Not a Happy Ending

This wasn't supposed to be my blip for today.

However this little guy turned up at my front door looking in a bad way.

Protected him from harm and then phoned the RSPCA. They arrived quickly but sadly a few minutes prior to their arrival it had given up  after a final flutter of its wings in an attempt to fly.   The RSPCA girl examined it but couldn't find an obvious sign of the cause.  Suicide and murder haven't been ruled out.

I should maybe have a drink this evening to mark its passing.
