Castlehaw and underground bunkers

It's A's birthday, we cant go inside anywhere, thank goodness its dry. We are allowed to meet for exercise - so we did Sedbergh Castle and the Sedbergh Town Trail:- 12,000 steps walking around Sedbergh including lunch from "On a Roll" which we sat and ate in the churchyard. Although A can't see very well, she knows her way round Sedbergh but I take her to places she's not been before, like up onto the old Motte and Bailey castle mound which she would not dream of doing on her own .
The mounds of the old Norman castle were re-used in the 1960s when an underground bunker was built in the bailey were A is standing and the Royal Observer Corps used it  to monitor for nuclear explosions- yes really - we are in The Yorkshire Dales! I'm standing on the motte but it wasn't safe to get A up there.
