Nannies Brooch

Antique Victorian Brass Nanny Pin or brooch. Also called a housekeeper's brooch.

Circa 1900 and made in Germany , this interesting bar brooch was supposedly worn by nannies or housekeepers who may need a pin or needle and thread at a moment’s notice, as the end unscrews to reveal a pin and needle and thread.

The front is set with a round gold stone and the back is marked DRGM for Deutches Reich Gebrauchs Muster- the manufacturer. That mark used between 1891-1945. The number is 682605 which I think might be the item number.
Considering the brooch is about 120 years old it is in remarkable condition.
This is an emergency blip. I've actually blipped it before but now it is going on ebay. I have waited in all day for a delivery of glass and lead for my stained glass project and it just hasn't come.
