From One Holiday to the Next

My own version of Blue Dog (created by George Rodrigue) helped me to make the transition  over to Christmas.

Away from the pilgrim with the long neck,
into the season where the halls are decked.

Away from the giant Mayflower ship,
into the season where red makes the blip.

Away from the dressing! Away from the turkey!
Into the season of decorated trees.

Away from the season where thanks get a lift,
into the season of the giving of gifts.
