Where You Stood

(February 20th Challenge). In front of John Singer Sargent's portrait of Mrs. Charles E. Inches (Louise Pomeroy), 1887. In Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. The notes accompanying the portrait state "When the picture was exhibited in Boston in 1888, the press declared it 'one of the most brilliant pieces of coloring that has been painted since Titian.'"

Well, I don't know about that, but I do know that I love this painting, and I covet that gorgeous claret colored velvet gown.
