Sgwarnog: In the Field

Ninety

In any other time this would have been a big family occasion. Indeed it still was, but not one where we could all meet up in person.

Mum is ninety, and we are all thankful for that. She was able to spend a good day in the company of family close at hand, and those of us who are more distanced were able to dial in for a chat with her and her new friend Percy (bottom left).

A small selection of images from her long life (girlhood in the New Forest, college in Leicester, and then the move to set up home in Wales with my Dad) seemed appropriate, so here’s a portrait from her early 20s (top left), an in-person birthday visit - and previous blip - from seven years ago (top right) and one from her wedding day in 1954.

Hopefully it won’t be too long before a risk-free in-person visit is possible again.
