Green lanes

It should have been a 'catch up' day really, but it was far too pleasant outside to stay in. A short walk with friend M and Jack (the jack russell) turned into the entire morning, recruiting my sis-in-law on the way. We walked along a lot of lovely quiet lanes, past green fields and trees with russet leaves, so it had to be a countryside blip today. I like this little copse in a field with no obvious reason for being there other than simply being there!

I visited some friends this afternoon who have a business retailing specialty chocolate. They had to close their shop a few months ago and now work from home, delivering orders or posting them. Consequently their house is full of chocolate, seriously, I have never seen so much amazing confectionery. It was piled everywhere, including many types of vegan chocolate, beautiful chocolate Christmas figurines, nuts, nougat, truffles, marzipans and such delicacies as Marrons Glace (chestnuts). I can still smell it all!

Caught another sunset on the way back to town then topped off the day with another of my bro's lovely roasts. Was out from 10am till 8pm. Not bad for someone who had planned a quietly industrious day at home!!!
