Winter beach

It was becoming cold by the late afternoon when I stopped to take this view down Loch Long from Glenfinnart Bay, Ardentinny. A quick check-in on Foursquare told me I hadn't been there since August. There is a reason for this. Ardentinny faces north-east. In the winter, very little sun actually reaches the village. It used to be said that half the inhabitants had artificial sunlight lamps or were on antidepressants, but I have no evidence for this slander.

What I do know for sure is that this beach lies just across the loch from the place where nuclear missiles are stored in the hillside and the berth where submarines are serviced. And that's enough to make anyone depressed.
