A view from St Swithin

Glen Clunie

A view of the River Clunie as it heads towards Braemar from the Cairnwell.

I’d been walking with a pal on the Munro An Socach in very cold, windy and artic conditions with only fleeting views of the surrounding hills. The walk took about 4 and a half hours and we were on the move most of the time as it was too cold to hang around.

On the way home I stopped at the Bothy cafe in Braemar for a large coffee and some cake which felt well deserved.
