The Sound of Summer

I have been wondering for some time how I could photograph the 'sound of summer'. Cicadas have been singing their song very loudly all over the summer, and I just love that sound. Today a co-worker came across a cicada on a curtain, so here it is. My 'sound of summer'. There is no sound quite as distinct as hundreds of cicadas on a summer's day in New Zealand.
